Harvest Season at Paradise

Updated: Dec 9, 2020

It’s Harvest Season at Paradise, a time to reap the bounty the residents of Washington DC’s Paradise at Parkside community have sown! Along with the autumnal colors surrounding it, the garden is shining with produce for all.

After a long summer of heat, humidity, and rain, the Paradise Community Garden is ready to be fully enjoyed by everyone. Come on by and pick whatever fruit or vegetable you’d like to share with your neighbor or for yourself!

Lettuce, jalapenos, figs, kale, apples, squash, tomatoes, and pumpkins are currently in season. Some of the herbs such as thyme, oregano and rosemary are also still available to be picked. The food at the Paradise Community Garden is as real and nutritious as it gets—fresh from the garden to your plate -- no long-distance shipping, no weeks sitting in storage.

The Garden is operated by and for the residents of the Paradise at Parkside community. The Garden Club is always looking for new members to help out, so if you’re eager to put your green thumb to work, please let us know!

We’d also like to know what kind of fruits or vegetables the community would like to enjoy. Do you have some suggestions about what to grow next year? Type it in the Comments section and we will do our best to try and grow it next year.

As always, the garden is open to anybody who enjoys fresh local produce. Come one, come all!
